    About

Elizabeth Lawler is a rare blend of technical founder and commercial operator, driving more than $120M in combined exits, and building a two-decade track record of developing AI and data platforms, taking them to market, and structuring the deals that turn innovation into meaningful outcomes.

She is the co-founder and CEO of AppMap, a developer observability and runtime code analysis platform whose libraries have been downloaded more than one million times across 160 countries. She raised $10M for AppMap from Work-Bench, Forgepoint, Unusual Ventures, and Dell Technologies Capital. She also personally architected its go-to-market, from open-source distribution strategy through enterprise sales motion.

Elizabeth is also co-founder and CTO of 2Market Media's AI startup, where she leads technical vision and architecture while driving commercial strategy, partnerships, and deal structure.

Elizabeth was previously the technical co-founder and CEO of Conjur. The company created the DevOps secrets management category and was acquired by CyberArk (NASDAQ: CYBR) in 2017. She led Conjur from technical concept through product, category creation, enterprise sales, and acquisition, and later served as VP of DevOps Security at CyberArk, where she integrated and scaled the business post-acquisition. Before Conjur, she was Chief Data Officer at Generation Health, a personalized medicine pioneer acquired by CVS Health, where she built the company's data platform and helped position it for exit.

Trained as a data scientist, Elizabeth holds a Doctor of Science (ScD) from Boston University. She has spent her career leading engineering and product organizations through complex technical builds, from national-scale clinical data systems at the VA Healthcare System, Harvard Medical School, and Brigham and Women's Hospital to category-defining security and observability platforms at Conjur and AppMap. She serves on the advisory board of GBH, New England's flagship public media organization. She is also the author of the forthcoming leadership book Hand It Over, and an active investor and advisor to startups across AI, security, and data infrastructure.
